The Department of Theatre Arts & Dance March 2025 production of "Perfect Arrangement" Nominated for MTJA Norbay Theater Award for Outstanding Collegiate Production
The Department of Theatre Arts & Dance March 2025 production of Perfect Arrangement by Topher Payne, directed by guest artist Ely Sonny Orquiza, has been nominated for a 2025 MTJA Norbay Theater Award for Outstanding Collegiate Production by the Marquee Theater Journalists Association, an association of North Bay theater journalists.
Perfect Arrangement is a contemporary play that combines comedy and drama in portraying two queer couples masquerading as straight couples, who are caught in the middle of the Lavender Scare, the persecution of queer federal employees in Washington, D.C., in the 1950s. This nomination is a recognition of the powerful work that the students, staff, faculty, and guest artists of the department created last spring.
The award ceremony is Sunday, September 28, at 6 pm at The California in Santa Rosa. Attendance is free, all are welcome to attend.
