Josh Glasgow, Professor & Chair of Philosophy, receives Excellence in Research, Scholarship, or Creative Activity Award

Congratulations Joshua Glasgow, Professor and Chair of Philosophy, recipient of the 2024-2025 Excellence in Research, Scholarship, or Creative Activity Award, which recognizes a member of the faculty who exemplifies the teacher-scholar model over the course of their professional development at Sonoma State.

Professor Glasgow earned a BA in philosophy from UC Santa Cruz in 1995 and a PhD in philosophy from the University of Memphis in 2001. A faculty member at SSU since 2009, Professor Glasgow teaches course topics ranging from moral theory and race to the good life and philosophy of law. He is the author over 30 articles and book chapters and five books, the most recent of which, The Significance Impulse: On the Unimportance of our Cosmic Unimportance, was published by Oxford University Press in 2024.
