University Art Gallery Exhibition Featured in The Press Democrat

On August 28th, The Press Democrat published a feature article highlighting Sonoma State University's own University Art Gallery, describing their current exhibition of "Mere Seconds" by San Francisco photographer Andrew Owen as "...sensibly rooted in awe, terror, and vastness".

"Mere Seconds" is a compilation of photographs depicting evidence of climate change close to home. A detail of great importance to the local area, this exhibition was inspired by Northern California wildfires and their haunting orange skies.

Owens captures the essence of communities is distress by focusing on the small details - a car buried under 10 inches of snow, a mountain of burned books covered in flame retardant, and many more real world examples of what real California families face each year.

Be sure to visit the University Art Gallery between September 3rd - October 17th to witness "Mere Seconds" on display.
