Book Launch for Professor Don Romesburg.

To launch his new bookContested Curriculum: LGBTQ History Goes to School (Rutgers UP, 2025), advocate and scholar Don Romesburg will discuss the long journey to bring LGBTQ-inclusive history education to K-12 schools. In this moment of systematic erasure of queer and trans histories and public lives, charting a path forward is more vital than ever. Professor Romesburg will give educators, students and policymakers advice on how to navigate this dangerous moment and celebrate LGBTQ-inclusive education for all.

Don Romesburg, Chair of Women's and Gender Studies at Sonoma State University, is also the editor of the Routledge History of Queer America (2018). He has been one of the lead scholars helping to implement California's FAIR Education Act and bring LGBTQ-inclusive education to K-12 schools.

Co-Sponsored by the Office of Equity and Belonging, the Women's and Gender Studies Department, and the Queer Studies Minor
