Student Travel Award

The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (HSSA) is proud to support our students who travel to professional conferences to present their research or creative activity. Please complete this form to apply for a Student Travel Award after your abstract has been accepted.

Deadline

Applications for Student Travel Awards will be accepted until 5pm on April 1, 2025, pending available funding. Awards are not retroactive. Student travel must be completed by April 30, 2025 to be eligible for reimbursement.

Award Eligibility

Currently, enrolled graduate and undergraduate majors in the College of Humanities Social Sciences and the Arts whose abstract has been accepted by a professional conference are eligible to apply for one award this academic year.

Award Amount

Variable. Students may not receive the entire amount they request. Awards to students who are the sole presenter of a paper will not exceed $500. Awards to groups of students presenting together will not exceed $750 (groups of students presenting together will receive one award to be divided as determined by the faculty sponsor, but every student must submit an application).
Award Criteria

Travel funds will be awarded to students who travel to a professional conference to present their research or creative activity. Students should submit an application only after their abstract has been accepted.
