Theatre Arts Teach-Out Advising Plan

The Theatre Arts program is being discontinued at the end of the Spring 2026 semester. If you are currently majoring or minoring in Theatre Arts, please review the following important information.

Advising for Theatre Arts Majors

Theatre Arts majors will be given priority registration for Spring 2026 and are strongly encouraged to register on Monday, November 17. Review your ARR before registration begins. If you have questions about what to take, please meet with your advisor, Professor Scott Horstein ([email protected]), early. Additional course options will become available for Spring 2026 through CSU Fully Online. The Spring 2026 course schedule for CSU Fully Online will be posted by Monday, November 17 on the CSU Fully Online website. Consult with Professor Scott Horstein before registering for CSU Fully Online courses you plan to count toward your Theatre Arts major.

  • Complete THAR courses when offered at SSU during the AY25/26 Theatre Arts teach-out
  • Meet with Professor Horstein to discuss the rest of the THAR curriculum, including performance-based work.

Advising for Theatre Arts Minors

Theatre Arts minors who can complete 24 units of minor coursework during the teach-out will receive their minor.

Advising Questions

Current students should direct advising questions to Professor Scott Horstein ([email protected]) or Associate Dean Karin Jaffe ([email protected]), Acting Chair of the Theatre Arts Teachout Program.

SSU Theatre Arts Courses

THAR majors and minors should prioritize taking THAR classes during FA25 and SP26.
